Marksmanship

Learning marksmanship skills can also provide a range of important lessons in concentration, focus, determination and self-discipline.

Of all of the exciting training available through the CCF, marksmanship training and shooting are always popular, and provide some of the most interest opportunities for cadets.

Cadets across the Services will have the opportunity to learn about a range of different weapons, and how to handle and fire them safely. All courses are taught by qualified instructors, and live firing on ranges is done under the supervision of suitably qualified range conducting officers. Although it may seem straightforward, there is a lot of skill and technique required to fire a rifle with a high level of accuracy. It requires focus, self-discipline, concentration and a very steady hand.

As cadets improve their skills, they will have the chance to progress to more advanced training, and enter competitions – even competing against the other cadet forces.
