The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is committed to supporting the ideals and activities of the CCF. As a charity we represent CCFs and their adult volunteers by providing a national forum for CCF contingents and work closely with the Ministry of Defence, headteachers’ organisations and other interested bodies.
As well as being an advocate and voice, CCFA provides direct support to our member CCFs, including access to purchase bespoke CCF Personal Accident and Contingent Public Liability insurance and legal advice helpline. See here for more details.
We also support members through our grant programmes to which CCFs can apply for contingent, group and individual cadet support. Cadets are at the heart of everything we do and we are proud to be able to support them to take part in CCF activities, from helping those in hardship get to annual camp, to supporting the development of new skills with music lessons and specialist training. More information can be found on the funding opportunities page.
We give support to Cadet Force Volunteers. As the CCF’s charity we recognise the vital role that CFAVs play and want to ensure that volunteers can access the support they need to thrive in their role, as well as in their professional and personal lives. In partnership with Care First, we offer 24/7 support to CCF adult volunteers and their immediate families. Find out more.
We seek to celebrate the achievements of cadets and adult volunteers. When a cadet or CFAV steps forward to deal with a real-life emergency or to render first aid, they deserve recognition. CCFA provide recognition in the form of the CCFA National Praiseworthy Action Certificate. The nomination form can be found on our CCFA Awards page.
In appropriate cases, the higher-level CCFA National Meritorious Action Certificate may be awarded. All nominations are also reviewed for external awards, such as the Royal Humane Society. Nomination forms and questions should be sent to awards@acctuk.org.
CCFA also delivers a range of key services directly supporting the chain of command, which brings wide benefits to CCF contingents. As well as providing a point of contact with CVC, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, the Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting, St John Ambulance and other similar organisations.
In recent years CCFA has supported the Cadet Expansion Programme through coordination of the Cadet Bursary Fund (now closed) and production of marketing and communication materials.
Membership of the Association is cost effective and open to all UK CCF contingents. You can read more about the wide range of benefits of Contingent Membership here.
100% of contributions raised through donations is used for grants to support CCF contingents and their cadets.
