Sir Christopher Hatton Academy is seeking a motivated and capable CCF School Staff Instructor to join our contingent and provide maternity cover. This role is central to the safe, effective and professional running of our CCF, supporting the Contingent Commander in delivery, administration, policy compliance and equipment management. The post will ideally also lead our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme.

We’re looking for someone with:
– A strong background in the Armed Forces or MOD cadet forces
– Experience of CCF operations and training delivery
– Knowledge of MOD policy, including arms and ammunition storage
– Confidence managing equipment, records, events, and cadet development
– The ability to gain MOD Security Clearance
– A flexible approach to working weekends and camps

Compensation & Hours (Summary)
– £13,462–£14,458 actual annual salary, based on NJC Scale Point 19–23
– Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): £32,061–£34,434
– 18 hours per week, across 39 weeks per year (term time + 5 additional school training days)
– Up to a further 20 additional paid days available for camps, training, competitions and courses
– In addition to this, eligibility for the SSI Voluntary Allowance, paid by the MOD
– If the post holder chooses to serve as a uniformed CFAV, eligibility for standard CFAV allowances (VA, travel and subsistence)
– Hours set with the school, including parade afternoons 1500-1700 on Tuesdays (Term Time)
– School holiday periods are non-working unless claiming approved additional days
