Actual salary: £4,536- £4,758 per annum

Working hours: 7.5 hours per week worked to be worked every Thursday, term time only.

The role:

Hayesfield Girls' School is seeking to appoint a Royal Navy CCF Administrator & School Staff Instructor (SSI) to join and support our thriving Combined Cadet Force. This is a unique and role ideal for someone with military or uniformed service experience, or a strong knowledge of the cadet movement.

The role is split into two key areas:

1. Administration
You will be responsible for the routine administration to ensure the smooth running of the CCF unit, including:

  • Maintaining accurate stores, equipment, and uniform records (including issuing and receiving items).
  • Managing the CCF building(s) and assisting with the biennial inspection.
  • Using the Westminster database to maintain cadet/staff records and process course applications.
  • Arranging training authorisation, travel/expense claims, and updating risk assessments.


2. Instruction and Training
You will play a direct role in the training and instruction of our Royal Navy cadets:

  • Instructing cadets during the Thursday training period and on weekend exercises/activities as required and agreed.
  • Advising the Contingent Commander on training requirements and maintaining high safety standards.
  • Delivering sessions to support the Cadet Royal Navy syllabus development.

Requirements:
The ideal applicant will be an inspiring, well-organised individual who can act as a positive role model to young people.

Essential to the role is that the candidate has:

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to command, inspire, and develop young people.
  • Strong organisational skills and a high degree of discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Computer literacy and a good basic standard of education (e.g., English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent experience).
  • The flexibility and commitment to attend all Thursday term-time parades and agree to occasional weekend duties/residential trips.
  • Willingness to undertake any necessary training and wear an appropriate uniform on duty.

Desirable:

  • Ex-Senior NCO of the regular or reserve armed services (or equivalent ranks in the Royal Navy/other Armed Service).
  • Working knowledge of the cadet movement or experience as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV).
