Back in July, The Gilberd School CCF took part in the national Burpee Battle challenge to help raise vital funds for the CCFA.

In one parade evening, the contingent completed 3,232 burpees, with one year 8 cadet doing an incredible 37 burpees in one minute! The contingent raised an amazing £1,035. Well done on such an incredible achievement!

Is Your CCF up to the Burpee Battle?

The Cadet Burpee Battle is a nationwide fundraising challenge that puts your fitness, determination, and teamwork to the test. Cadets have just 60 seconds to complete as many burpees as possible, all while collecting sponsorships to support the CCFA.

But this is about more than just exercise. Each burpee represents resilience, leadership, teamwork, and service – characteristics that all cadets have. It’s about giving back to a charity that invests in you and cadets like you across the UK.

The challenge was started by Army Reservist and Cadet Instructor Mark Bailey – to learn more about Mark and the Burpee Battle, please click here.

As well as challenging yourself, the funds raised will go to the CCFA who play a vital role in supporting cadets – from delivering leadership and adventure training to funding key experiences that shape your journey within the CCF.

Noting the incredible work the CCFA does, Mark comments “my aim has always been to help more people understand what the CCFA does behind the scenes and to create opportunities for cadets and volunteers to give back to the organisation that supports them.”
