Alison Pyman, Talent Acquisition Adviser at Network Rail, explained: “We're looking for young people who are keen to find a career as bright, and unique as they are. Our advanced apprenticeship scheme offers an exciting career journey with Network Rail.
Cadets encouraged to apply for Network Rail apprenticeship scheme
Applications are now being taken for the Network Rail September 2018 advanced engineering apprentice scheme, and the organisation is particularly keen to encourage young people with a background in the cadet forces to apply.
“As a company, we recognise the valuable skills and behaviours which young people learn during their time with the cadet forces. The attention to detail, safety focus and team work that they display on a daily basis, along with their core values of trust, selflessness and personal resilience are vital attributes in every workplace. Our engineering apprenticeship offers them the chance to build on these attributes and challenge themselves to build an amazing career in industry, while building the future railway of Great Britain."
The advanced apprenticeship scheme at Network Rail is open to anyone who will be aged 18 on or before 29 September 2018. There’s no upper age limit.
To apply you’ll need at least four A*- C/ Grade 9-4 GCSEs (IGCSE’s accepted) or four Scottish Standard 1-3/National 5. These must include English, Maths and Science or Engineering.
You can apply while you’re still sitting your exams as long as you’ll have your results before the start of the scheme.
Applications for the September 2018 intake of apprentices must be submitted by Monday 12 March.
Interested applicants can download the apprenticeship brochure or visit the Network Rail website for further details.
