Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Colonel Cadets Anthony Lamb MBE DL VR has been selected as the new Head of Youth and Cadets in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the rank of Brigadier, shaping the future of the nation’s cadet forces.

Stepping down from his role as Colonel Cadets, Brigadier Lamb will now oversee the strategic direction of the five MOD-sponsored cadet forces – the Sea Cadet Corps, the Volunteer Cadet Corps, the Combined Cadet Force, the Army Cadet Force, and the Air Training Corps - consisting of 120,110 cadets and 27,470 adult volunteers.

Brigadier Lamb said: “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed in this role as Head of Youth and Cadets, leading the strategic direction of our five amazing MOD-sponsored cadet forces and ensuring that policy and governance is in place to deliver it.

“These five organisations offer the full cadet experience: a second-to-none, 21st century youth development programme aimed at preparing young people for success and providing new opportunities and experiences to enrich their lives.

“For me, this role represents the culmination of over 30 years working with young people, both in education and the cadets, and gives me a unique opportunity to draw on all my experience to help the take this wonderful youth movement forward.”

Brigadier Lamb has served as CCF Colonel Cadets since January 2019 and we would like to thank him for his service during this time.
