A Week of STEM, Teamwork and Army Technology
This October half-term, 270 cadets from across the country will gather for Exercise STEM Challenge 2025 – a thrilling national week-long Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) competition. The event runs from Sunday 26 October to Friday 31 October 2025 in Dorset. It promises an unforgettable mix of competition, learning, and hands-on experience with some of the Army’s most advanced technology.
Delivered primarily by the Royal Armoured Corps (RAC) with support from other Army Arms and Services, the challenge will immerse cadets in practical STEM applications beyond the classroom, inspiring them to explore exciting future careers in engineering, science, and technology.
What to Expect
Building on the success of last year’s event, Ex STEM Challenge 2025 will see up to 27 teams compete for top honours. Each Army-run stand will feature a competitive element, with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. Themes will include:
- Military communications – mastering the art of secure and effective information exchange.
- Military engineering – tackling combat, mechanical, and electrical challenges.
- Transport operations – exploring how the Army moves equipment and personnel efficiently.
- Weaponry technology – understanding the engineering behind precision systems.
From problem-solving under pressure to applying classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios, cadets will experience STEM in action at every stage.
