The CCF was set up as part of the Cadet Expansion Programme (CEP) and the school had previously been parading successfully with their partner contingent, Warminster School.

In September 2017, the CCF became an independent unit and has since celebrated their affiliation with the Army Air Corps (AAC).

As part of the affiliation ceremony, Major Aslett and Lt Col Gavin Rundle from the AAC flew to the school on a Wildcat helicopter and presented each of the cadets with their silver cap badges.

After a chance to explore the helicopter, the cadets then showcased their first aid, bush craft and archery skills to the visitors, highlighting the type of skills that they’ve learnt through the CCF.
