The Band were honoured to be invited by the Garrison Commander and Garrison Sergeant Major of Aldershot Garrison to be part of the Beating Retreat that was held at the Army Cricket Ground in Aldershot on Wednesday 14 June 2023. Also in attendance were the Band of the Brigade of Gurkha’s who put on a fabulous display. Before Sunset, the Band were honoured to play Highland Cathedral alongside the Band of the Brigade of Gurkha’s, the lead piper for the evening playing a solo before the rest of the Band joined in. To conclude the evening, the Band marched off to Scotland the Brave with the Band of the Brigade of Gurkha’s accompanying.

Cadets of the Gordon’s School Pipes and Drums were active within the local and wider community supporting events alongside and in support of the military in June.
Aldershot Garrison Beating Retreat 2023
On Saturday 24 June 2023, Gordon’s School Pipes and Drums were humbled to support an Armed Forces Day event at Antsey Park in Alton, an event that followed a big convoy of old military vehicles. The Pipe Major played the Lament, Flowers of the Forest, during the short Remembrance Service and the Band followed the Service with a musical display to the public.
