Richard took part in a two week RAF Air Cadet Pilot Scheme at Tayside Airport in July where he was able to complete 12 hours of flying, culminating in his first solo flight.
He flew an Aquila aircraft during the course and was also filmed for a BBC Alba documentary, which is still available on BBC iPlayer to get an insight into the course.
Richard received his certificate from Air Commodore David Bentley, Director Flying Training, No22(Trg) Group, during the school’s recent biennial inspection.
