Run by the Cadet Centre for Adventure Training (CCAT), they headed for the slopes of Bavaria in southern Germany for a week of instruction.

They all used the course as their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award residential and trained alongside other CCF and ACF cadets as well as adult volunteers from all over the UK.

Cadet Melissa said: “It was an incredible opportunity to learn new skills in an unfamiliar environment with a group of cadets from all over the UK. The experience of learning with new people allowed me to become more aware of the wider CCF and ACF community and the activities which we took part in allowed us to bond together as a group, become friends and improve our skills.”
