Charlie Thompson, the Contingent Commander and also a teacher in the school explained: “We intend to use the new training facility to hold a library of resources ready and waiting for our cadets to learn from. A third of the space will be used as an office as well as us also using the area as a radio room when required.”

Every Tuesday night over 200 cadets parade at Priory Academy LSST and it is one of the largest CCF units in the East Midlands.

The CCF at Priory Academy LSST was founded in the nineties and has only grown in popularity since its creation, with both Army and RAF sections on offer for pupils to get involved with.

Charlie added: “We really needed this new training facility because there simply isn’t space for all of the cadet resources we need in the school.”

Thanks to the popularity of the CCF unit at Priory Academy LSST, the school has in the last 12 months helped to establish sister CCF units at Priory Witham and Priory City of Lincoln who are all part of the same school federation.

The latest units were established as part of the Cadet Expansion Programme.
