On Tuesday 6 March, the Sirius Academy North CCF cadets were finally able to put on their long-awaited cadet uniforms as they took part in their passing out parade.

Guests included parents, family members, the entire senior leadership team at the partner CCF school Sirius Academy West and Schools Cadet Expansion Officer for the North East Gerard Hardy.

The school also welcomed guest of honour Col Robin Fox of Humberside Army Cadet Force (ACF) who assisted in presenting each cadet with their lapel badge.

The audience heard about the units achievements since opening in September and the contingent commander highlighted to parents how having the unit will build self esteem and provide opportunities to access activities and skills otherwise unavailable to many young people in the area.

SSI (School Staff Instructor) Karen Faulkner said: “Looking sharp, our cadets attracted a great deal of attention from both curious students and impressed staff. The cadets’ parents were bursting with pride and many photo opportunities were snapped up.

“Many thanks are owed to the tutors and staff who have promoted the uniform and praised the cadets on their immaculate appearance.”
