Every year, around 11 cadets are chosen from amongst 22,000 across the country. Those chosen will act as ambassadors, representing the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at national events, allowing them a rare glimpse into the careers of senior Royal Navy Officers. Warrant Officer Georgia Manton

Warrant Officer Manton adds “Being awarded the prestigious title of First Sea Lord Cadet for 2026 has come as a wonderful surprise and I am thrilled to take on this opportunity. I’m really excited to represent my CCF Contingent, and I can’t wait to interact with senior leaders from across the Royal Navy and learn from their experiences. Likewise, I’m looking forward to meeting my fellow First Sea Lord Cadets and attending a diverse range of events with them.

If I was to give any advice to CCF cadets wanting to apply for this role in 2027 or any future years, then it would be to take any opportunity that comes your way and work hard, stay committed. Show enthusiasm and leadership in everything you do - be confident and have a positive mindset!

I hope to take away from this experience a confidence in representing others and I also hope to learn more about leadership at the highest level. These are skills that can help me in my future career, and they are great life skills overall.”
