The group of 25 cadets from the King’s School Grantham CCF and their partner cadets at Magnus Church of England Academy CCF, planted the trees as part of the Army’s Op Reflect – commemorating the Centenary of the First World War.

The planting took place at a Woodland Trust site in East Keal. Following the planting the cadets placed poppy crosses by each tree to remember the fallen.

Andrew Cook from Walking with the Wounded, a British charity to help injured former Armed Forces servicemen and women in their career transition from the military to civilian life, visited the cadets alongside the Deputy Lieutenant Mr Hugh Drake on behalf of the Lincolnshire Lieutenancy.

For the Magnus CofE cadets this was their first citizenship project since joining the CCF and showcased a fantastic joint effort with the King’s cadets.
