“My nomination and Powerlist Magazine entry included roles from Finance Made Simple (a financial literacy society I helped found on campus), coaching the Ghana National Debate Team and for the CCF specifically, I was one of eight cadets selected to represent the Contingent at the Mayor of London’s Memorial Parade, I organised the weekly training programme for around a third of our CCF Contingent and was responsible for equipment.
"Today, I’d say to any young person considering the CCF to stick with it. I don’t think I’d be the same person without taking part in CCF. Whether it’s messing around with my mates or doing something new and interesting and out of my comfort zone every week, CCF is a great opportunity!
"It's been a long road, with plenty of setbacks, doubts, and moments of having to start again. So being recognised like this means more than I can properly express. It's a reminder that the work adds up, even when it doesn't always feel like it in the moment.
"Grateful doesn't quite cover it. And this feels less like an arrival than a checkpoint. There's a lot more I want to build, and I'm looking forward to what's next. Thank you to everyone who's been part of the journey so far.”
Lieutenant Eeles form Wilson’s School CCF (Army Section), added, “Having taught and mentored Daniel throughout his time in Wilson's CCF, I am delighted to see him recognised as one of the UK's Top 150 Black Future Leaders by Powerlist Magazine. Daniel was an exceptional cadet who embodied the Army Values and Standards in everything he did, progressing to the rank of Cadet Colour Sergeant through dedication, leadership and exemplary conduct. He consistently led by example, earning the respect of his peers and instructors alike. His recent achievements at the University of Warwick, alongside leadership positions within student societies and engagement with some of the world's leading financial institutions, demonstrate that the same determination, humility and commitment to service that distinguished him as a cadet continue to underpin his success today. This recognition is thoroughly deserved and I have no doubt he has a bright future ahead of him.”
In the immediate future, Daniel is looking to advance in a finance or economics career, steering back towards teaching in the long term.
Congratulations Daniel, this is an amazing accomplishment!
No doubt we will be sharing many more of your achievements for years to come.
