As a charity we represent CCFs and their adult volunteers by providing a national forum for CCF contingents and work closely with the Ministry of Defence, headteachers’ organisations and other interested bodies.
As well as being an advocate and voice, CCFA provides direct support to our member CCFs, including access to bespoke CCF Personal Accident and Contingent Public Liability insurance and legal advice helpline. See here for more details.
We also support members through our grant programmes to which CCFs can apply for group and individual cadet support. Cadets are at the heart of everything we do and we are proud to be able to support them to take part in CCF activities, from helping those in hardship get to annual camp, to supporting the development of new skills with music lessons and specialist training. More information can be found on the funding opportunities page.
CCFA also delivers a range of key services directly supporting the chain of command, which brings wide benefits to CCF contingents. As well as providing a point of contact with CVQO, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, the Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting, St John Ambulance and other similar organisations.
We seek to celebrate the achievements of cadets and adult volunteers and as such coordinate applications to for national recognition to organisations such as the Royal Humane Society and St John Ambulance Everyday Heroes.
In recent years CCFA has supported the Cadet Expansion Programme through coordination of the Cadet Bursary Fund (now closed) and production of marketing and communication materials.
Membership of the Association is cost effective and open to all UK CCF contingents. You can read more about the wide range of benefits of Contingent Membership here.
