Crowdfunding opportunities

The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is working in collaboration with Crowdfunder UK, the UK’s leading crowdfunding platform, to offer eligible schools an exciting opportunity to work with their local communities to raise funds for their cadet units.

Whilst the Cadet Bursary Fund (CBF), under the Cadet Expansion Programme (CEP) has supported schools with their initial set-up costs, it is recognised it is equally important to ensure that these new cadet units are sustainable.

In this pilot project launching Autumn 2016, schools will be given specialist coaching and support to create and launch a month long Crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to support the sustainability  of their units.  In addition, they will also be able to increase the amount of money raised through match funding available from CCFA.

The pilot project is currently open to state school CCFs and MSSC units formed as part of the CEP, who have previously received funding from the Cadet Bursary Fund and are now running as a stand-alone unit, parading since at least 1 May 2016. Schools in areas rated as high or moderately high as according to Department for Education deprivation data will be prioritised, and the unit must be a member of CCFA (or MSSC where applicable).

If you meet these criteria and are interested in getting involved in the project, please contact Faye Meakin, CBF Programme Manager, cbf@combinedcadetforce.org.uk or visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/cadets to find out more about this pilot project and deadlines for application.

If your school does not meet the criteria, but you are interested in Crowdfunding – you can visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk to find out more about this kind of fundraising, or read the how to crowdfund guide provided by Crowdfunder UK. To register you interested in getting involved in any future Crowdfunding projects, please get in touch with Faye Meakin at cbf@combinedcadetforce.org.uk
